The advent of the Objective Motion Cueing Test (OMCT) by ICAO in 2010 led simulator manufacturers to explore the possibility of enhancing the motion cueing quality and performance of their devices. One of these manufacturers, FlightSafety International (FSI), engaged IDT to analyse and enhance the motion cueing capability of its fixed-wing and rotary-wing flight simulators. Through the integration of the OMCT into the test software, and by performing motion tuning with objective constraints, the devices were enhanced significantly. These improvements were shown on both objective tests as well as through pilot evaluations.
