TU Delft operates the SIMONA Research Simulator, a unique, light-weight, high-bandwidth flight research simulator. Currently, the device is used for the development of aerodynamic models representing stall and post-stall behaviour of modern aircraft, evaluating human-machine interfaces in glass cockpits, and investigating “greener” procedures for aircraft operations.
IDT developed the design of the SIMONA simulator and its facility, interacting with multiple teams of researchers and engineers, as well as building architects. The end result is a simulator capability like no other, where researchers of all levels are able to utilise the device to carry out unique objectives.
